    Founded in 1896, Southwest Jiao Tong University has been attached great importance to the construction and development of mechanical discipline, and in 2008 on the basis of mechanics, established the school of mechanics and engineering. Mechanics of Southwest Jiao Tong University won the national first batch of solid mechanics professional doctorate granting in 1982, in 1987 set up mechanical post-doctoral research station, in 2005 obtained a doctorate granting authority of mechanics including four second level disciplines: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, dynamics and control and engineering mechanics. At present, School of mechanics and engineering in Southwest Jiao Tong University owes 1 expert of "thousands of people plan",3 experts of the national outstanding youth winner, 3 experts won the Ministry of education and the cross century talents in the new century fund, 1 expert of the national teaching masters, 3 experts of Sichuan Province (100 thousand) program; the school also owes a national education base of mechanical engineering course, 1 state level experimental demonstration center of mechanics,  3 national excellent courses, 2 national teaching innovation team, 1 Sichuan Province Youth Science and technology innovation team,  1 Sichuan Province Key Laboratory (reviewing); "Engineering Mechanics" for undergraduate is the national characteristic specialty.

    The Southwest Jiao Tong University is implementing principal strategy of talent strengthening school and actively introduce all kinds of talents. One. Recruitment categories, conditions and treatment
1. The leading talent in discipline
Conditions:

    Served in domestic and overseas famous university or Research Institute and age less than 50 years old. Owing an important academic impact in the international academic circles and ability to become the discipline leader talent of school. Talents returning from overseas should owe the post of university professor or an equivalent position; the domestic talent should be "Yangtze River Scholar" Professor, winners of national outstanding youth fund, or well-known scholar recognized by related fields domestic or overseas with full employment term and excellent appraisal.
Relevant treatment (discuss personally):
For talents returning from overseas
1) Directly identified as Professor, doctoral supervisor, "chief professor" of school after coming into school.
2) Annual salary system is available.
3) Ensure the scientific research funds, office, lab and equipment as the need required; build the research organization for its special and assist to build team if needs.
4) In the employment period, providing rental house or rental housing subsidies; for their spouses, give priority to employment if meet our employment conditions; if not, the school grant spouse placement fee (no less than the local minimum wage standard, provide three years) each month; in the employment period, if the spouse living outside, school provide a visit of international travel (once a year); actively assist for children to go to school, kindergarten.
5) For foreigners, the school is responsible for managing the procedures for long-term working and living in China; purchasing commercial insurance refer to level of insurance of the school staff.
For domestic talents:
1) Directly identified as Professor, doctoral supervisor, "chief professor" of school after coming into school.
2) Selected candidate with full-time job in our school can enjoy the ad hoc post bonuses for "chief professor" and other equivalent treatment.
3) The school provide the installation fee for full-time employed candidate from other school; provide rent housing or rent housing subsidies; to arrange working for their spouse.

2.  Discipline leader
Conditions:

Owing an important academic impact in the international academic circles and ability to become the discipline leader talent of school. Talents returning from overseas should owe the post of university associate professor, assistant professor or an equivalent position; the domestic talent should teach in domestic universities with a post of professor or equivalent position. Give priority to winners of all kinds of national talents.
Relevant treatment (discuss personally):
For talents returning from overseas
1)Directly identified as Professor, doctoral supervisor, "chief professor" of school after coming into school.
2) Annual salary system is available.

3.  Excellent academic backbone
Conditions:

    Academic performance significantly beyond similar personnel in my school and age less than 45 years old, With great potential for development and ability to catch up with or surpass the international advanced level in the frontier research field of a certain academic direction. Talents returning from overseas should owe the doctor's degree or work experience for 3 years in famous universities overseas; give priority to domestic talents selected in national or provincial talent plan.
Relevant treatment (discuss personally):
1) The scientific research expenses.
2) Provide the installation fee, rent housing subsidies.
3) To help their children to go to school, kindergarten.
4) For especially outstanding talents returned from overseas, annual salary system is available as well as appointing as professor or associate professor after engaging and joining in postgraduate tutor selection.
4.  Excellent postdoctoral researchers and outstanding doctoral graduates
Conditions:

    PhD graduates should with the age under 35, postdoctoral researchers under the age of 40. Should graduate from well-known university domestic or abroad. Give priority to talents learning in foreign famous universities or research institutions.
Relevant treatment (discuss personally):
